  • Our Mission
Peke A Tzu Rescue is devoted to helping all babies in need, but our hearts belong to those that need us the most…the physical and mentally challenged and the seniors. We pray every day that there is someone out there for these special babies that will take them into their hearts and homes. Until that special home comes along they are part of our family and we love them dearly. We also know when we commit to these babies that they may be here with us for the rest of their lives. We offer the sanctuary and love that they need and in return they fill our lives with joy. We feel blessed to have these babies in our home to snuggle and love and will continue to devote our lives to those that need us the most.
A wonderful way for those of you that maintain a lifestyle that prohibits you from physically helping these sweet kids is through sponsorship. It costs over $50.00 per month to vet, groom and feed each of our Haven Babies. Your name and location will be noted under the dog you have chosen to sponsor. You will be kept updated on a monthly basis as to how your “Haven Baby” is progressing. Sponsoring one of our Haven Babies is very fulfilling for you will be able to follow their progress as they heal emotionally and physically, grow to trust and continue to search for their Special Home that they so deserve.

"Peke A Tzu Haven is where we want to be,
Everyone here is so happy and carefree."

    Pupster Sponsorships
We all know that there are different areas that we can help within rescues. Some individuals open their homes to the dogs for fostering, others aid in transports, vet visits and grooming appointments. We realize that many of our lives become very busy and there is just not enough time in the day.

    Sponsorship Auto Monthly
If you would like to sponsor one of our precious Haven Babies, and would like to have your monthly sponsorship automatically paid via Paypal, please click on the Paypal button below. Many of our Sponsor Parents prefer this option.
If you prefer to pay on a month to month basis please click on the "Sponsor Me" button within each pupster's bio.

I am a beautiful dark red and white 9 yr old Shih Tzu girl. I weigh 12 lbs and was born on June 20, 2010. I am a retired breeder.
I was a bit shy when I arrived, but am doing much better now. I love all of the other pupsters and it is so much fun to have sisters and brothers to play with. I am definitely enjoying all of the soft beds and toys. I love to be held and cuddled and am ready to share your bed with you. I would do well with another pupster, but would also be contented to be the one and only. I would like a nice fenced in yard and prefer no children.
To maintain my excellent health, my diet is extremely important. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet. Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet.
I am working on house training and do well during grooming.
I am spayed, current on vaccinations and on a monthly heartworm prevention and natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.00
We appreciate Nita Andrews of Florida for lovingly sponsoring Arianne.

I am a very sweet 8 yr old red and white Shih Tzu girl. I weigh 9 lbs and was born on February 4, 2012. I am a retired breeder.
I am absolutely adorable and just love to be loved. I am packed full of energy and love to romp and play with the rest of the pupsters. At night I just love to cuddle close to Mom and Dad..their pillows are my favorite place. I do have weepy eyes so need daily eye cleaning and drops. I was diagnosed with a Grade 2 Systolic Heart Murmur in March of 2017. I would love a home with another pupster to play with and I will need a fenced in yard. No children please.

I am a beautiful 10 yr old blonde and white Pekingese girl. I weigh 14 lbs and was born on November 10, 2019
My Mom and Dad had adopted me about five years ago at one of the free adoption events. They took very good care of me, but could no longer afford my care cost and were also expecting a baby.
I am a sweet little girl and love to be held and cuddled. I enjoy being outside and love to go for walks. I play well with the other pupsters, but can be a bit alpha on occasion. I am such a happy little girl and I am in love with my little ducky. Carrying my ducky around in my mouth gives me more confidence and I chatter away while carrying him. I am looking forward to a home where I will be loved forever. I would like a fenced in yard and prefer no children.

I am 13 yrs old, weigh 6 lbs and am a beautiful gold and blue Yorkie girl. I am a retired breeder.
I will need a very special home for you see I am blind. I have adult cataracts in both eyes. This does not slow me down however. Once I know where everything is at I do just as well as the other pupsters with sight. I discovered this thing called a doggy door and have fun going in and out. All you need to do is say my name and my tail is wagging and I am ready to give you lots and lots of love. I am looking for a home that understands my special needs and loves me for who I am. I love to be cuddled by Mom and Dad and snuggle right in and give the best kisses. I do well with the other pupsters and would love another pupster to snuggle with. Also, my Mom/Dad would need to be home with me 24/7. I prefer no children.

I am a very sweet, 14 yr old, 13 lb white Maltese Bichon Mix. My birthday is May 18, 2005.
My owner became very ill and was unable to continue to care for me.
I am an active very playful little girl. I love to be loved and really enjoy belly rubs. I get along great with the other pupsters and enjoy romping and playing with them. Just give me a toy and I think I am in heaven. I did have surgery for mammary tumors and test results indicate a Grade 2. I would love a home with another pupster to play with and a fenced in yard to enjoy. I prefer no small children.

I am a sweet, lovable gold and black 12 yr old Yorkshire Terrier girl. I was born on September 1, 2007 and I weigh 8 lbs. I am quite the Diva.
I was very happy in my home and my Mom and Dad took very good care of me. Unfortunately my Dad got very, very sick and Mom did not have the time to care for me anymore for she needed to give all of her attention to Dad who needed her so. I am such a sweet baby just full of love. I want nothing more than to be held and cuddled. I do not interact much with the other pupsters. I am more of an observer. I would love a home where I could be the one and only, but would be OK with another non alpha pupster. Please consider giving me a loving home. A fenced in yard is a must and I prefer no small children.

I am a beautiful 10 yr old black Shih Tzu girl. I weigh 9 lbs and was born on October 6, 2009. I am a retired breeder. I was turned over to rescue because I had a cherry eye. Surgery was successful. I do have an issue with my coordination and will walk sideways at times and when I run my little butt is over to the side.
Please click on Mystic's Video Clip to see me in action!
I am a sweet, lovable, little girl, but am very shy. I love to be held and cuddled once I am comfortable with you. I love to play and cuddle with the other pupsters and enjoy playing with all of the toys. I look forward to bedtime so I can cuddle close to Mom and Dad. I would love a home with another pupster to play with. A fenced in yard is a must and no small children please.

We are both very sweet 15 lb, 15 yr old, black and white Shih Tzu Poodle mixes. We were born on February 19, 2005.
Our Dad's health was not good and it was necessary for him to go into assisted living. The family members could not care for us. We had been with our Dad since we were puppies. We are both very sweet, loving babies. We love to be held and cuddled and sure can give good kisses. We need nothing more than lots of lap time and would love to share your bed with you. Sophie here is sight impaired. We would like to stay together...we love each other so much. We would love a nice fenced in yard to play in and prefer no small children.

I am a beautiful 9 yr old black and white, 10 lb Shih Tzu girl. I am a retired breeder. I was born on July 5, 2010.
Aren't I just the cutest little Shih Tzu girl you have ever seen? I am just a little doll baby and love to play with all of the other pupsters. I am very nervous when meeting strangers. Even though I love my Mom and Dad here, I still play catch me if you can. I am very independent and sometimes I like to be in your lap and other times I prefer to occupy myself. I do get in a bit of trouble on occasion, but I just cannot help myself. I would love a home where Mom/Dad could be home with me most of the time. A fenced in yard is a must and no small children please.

I am a very sweet, 8 pound blue and gold, 12 year old Yorkshire Terrier girl. I was born on December 30, 2007.
My Dad was very sick and in assisted living. His caretaker agreed to give me a home. I really bonded with her, but there were children and her husband. Once I got comfortable I began nipping at the children and her husband. She could no longer care for me so here I am at PATR.
I am a very out going loving little girl who wants nothing more than to be in your lap. I do great with the other pupsters, but can be a bit bossy at times. When I want something I definitely let Mom know with my little bark. I'm dreaming of a home where I would be comfortable being the one and only or have a sister/brother that is about my size. A fenced in yard is a must. Hopefully Mom/Dad could be home with me most of the day. I am looking forward to finding my Forever Home.
My diet is an extremely important factor in my overall health.
