Privet's
Forever Home
Update

Hi Jan,
I just wanted to wish you a happy new year and let you know that Mr. Privet is doing very well. I thought that he would not be a big fan of the cold weather but it does not seem to bother him at all. Most mornings I have to call him in while my other two dogs are waiting at the door. Privet loves his big yard and exploring. Also, much to my dismay, he loves rabbit poop. Ugh! Not much I can do about that one. I just have to watch him closely for parasites. Privet is growing a pretty impressive coat. It is about twice as large as when I adopted him. It is not longer - just fuller. He is still on a raw food diet and snacks on veggies such as carrots and broccoli. There is a lot of playing going on this morning. All I hear is thundering foot steps as he and Simon chase around the house. Privet is also very interested in all the activities outside of the house. I have moved a chair by my front window so that he can watch (and bark) at whatever walks by. He is my little watch dog! Hope all is well with you and your family. I will update you as Privet has more adventures.
Have an excellent weekend!

Hi Jan,
Just wanted to give you an update on sweet little Privet. He is doing so well. Last night he and Simon were racing through the house together. It was very very cute. Privet sleeps in a kennel at night. He is doing very well with getting right to sleep. There is no fussing. I even found him moving toys into the kennel tonight. I think he was trying to hide them from Simon. I hope you like the photo. Both boys are constantly in motion so this is the best I could do for now. I will try to get something better for you this weekend. Leonardo seems to like Privet as long as he stays out of Leo's personal space. There has been no fighting...just growling and some "stink eye" back and forth. My mom met Privet today. He poured on the charm giving her lots of kisses and snuggles. Pretty smart little dog to get on Grandma's good side. Grandma loves to spoil the grand dogs.
Talk to you soon!

Hi Jan,
Privet is still doing well....so no, Bruce cannot have him back. :-) He is sleeping right now because he spent 3 hours this afternoon chasing Simon around the yard while I cleaned up the gardens and mowed. It was really fun to see the two of the tearing around the yard. I am really enjoying the little guy. He is just a sweetheart. I will send photos next time I write. Hope all is well in your pupster paradise.

Hi Jan,
All is going great here. Mr. Privet Man has weaseled his way into the family. I love him! And both pekingese love him too. He and Simon really like each other. It is fun to see them running around the yard, sharing the same toy, or even sleeping together. Privet is always wagging his tail at Simon. Simon was neutered last Monday. I think that Privet felt sorry for his buddy as he was hovering over him for at least three days. Privet is finally mastering the walk. At first he would hang way back behind me while the other two marched ahead. It was a very awkward way to go for a walk as I was stretched in two directions. Now he bravely marches ahead too! He loves walks and barks when he sees his harness come out. He is going to keep the name Privet as he answers to it. It suits him. :-) I will try to send photos later this weekend

We just love Privet. He is just so friendly and very athletic. Also, the little stinker LOVES swimming so he is going to dock diving school right now. :-) I have attached a picture that I took this weekend. He climbed into bed with this little sister Buttons. Buttons is a rescue pekingese from the Humane Society. She was literally a skeleton when I got her. The breeder turned her in (thank goodness!) due to a vaccine accident - she got a double dose of the distemper vaccine. She could not walk and kept falling over when she arrived. Now she is perfect! Good diet and care. You know....Peke a Tzu has helped so many just like her. I told the Humane Society that my expectation is that she lives her best life. There was no way of knowing that she would improve but here she is. Privet loves her and they play all the time. Thank you for all that you do for these little ones. My home would be so different without Privet. He is family.
