Ritter's
Forever Home
Update

July 1, 2017
Things are going absolutely great with Ritter. In only a week he has gotten pretty good on-leash, it is funny to watch him watching Peanut and imitating. He sure loves walks. Car rides, not so much, he doesn't seem interested in looking out the window much but I have ordered a booster seat so maybe he will like that. He is the perfectly behaved young gentleman. We really adore him already.
Thanks Jan!

Things are still wonderful, Jan. He acts a little more playful and confident each day. We did have him groomed a bit on his face as he always gets food in his 'beard'.... Just wanted to say Hi from all of us....

Hi Jan!
Everything is super! He is so lovely and has just started showing flashes of real playfulness, and a bit of full tilt running we had not seen him do before. I will keep you updated!

Hi!
Just wanted to send a quick hello and a message from Ritter. He has all of a sudden turned into a real goofball the last couple of weeks, stealing Peanuts toys and hiding them or chasing the cat playfully.... He also has turned into quite the sentry, letting passersby on the sidewalk out front to move along from his post on the back of the couch in the living room window... We have a busy week planned with a visit to the groomer and his heart checkup at the vet....Hope all is well with you and the small ones!

Ritter lives a life of leisure! I had forgotten, I wanted to ask if you had any idea of how to keep his tears from crusting under his eyes. The vet said possibly allergies and 1\2 a Claritin a day, but I was hesitant to put him on meds when this is a relatively small issue. He does develop hard little crusts of tearing material under his eyes, and again I don't want to damage his eyes cleaning them too often but only a warm wet washcloth to kind of loosen them and wipe them away helps as I don't want any products near his eyes. He hates the process but is such a patient and enduring little man. I just thought I would ask if you had encountered this type of thing before and what you might think best in terms of solutions if there is any.
Thanks!

Hi Jan!
We celebrated Ritter's anniversary with us with a trip to the vet....the heart murmur is unchanged, and he got his shots! Just thought I would let you know all is well!
