Peke A Tzu Rescue's Available Dogs

Our Goal
Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal!

Temple
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on July 27, 2008. My name is Temple.
I am a very cute 11 lb, 2 yr old blonde Shih Tzu mix boy. I was born on October 25, 2007.
My Mom's husband passed away and she could not afford to keep me. I am a very loving little boy just packed full of energy. I love to romp and play with the other pupsters here and lap time is one of my passions. Yeh, I get into a bit of trouble here and there, but I am so curious about everything....just can't help myself. I can't wait to find my special home where I will have another pupster to play with, a fenced in yard to romp and play in and a Mom/Dad that will love me forever!
To maintain my excellent health, my diet is extremely important. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet. Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet.
I am working on house training and do well during grooming.
I am neutered, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on Interceptor for monthly heartworm prevention and on a natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $375.

I am a handsome, energetic blonde 2 yr old Shih Tzu Mix boy. I weigh 12 lbs I was born on October 25, 2007.
My Mom's husband passed away and she could not afford to keep me. Bet you can't guess how Mom came up with my name? Yep, you are right..I am full of the dickens. I keep telling her that's what us babies are all about! OK, so sometimes I get into a few things I shouldn't. I do love the pupsters here and really enjoy being cuddled and held. I would love a home with another pupster to play with and a fenced in yard is a must. Can't wait to meet my Mom and Dad!

Lizzy
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on July 28, 2008. My name is Lizzy.
I am a 6 lb, 3 yr old, beautiful liver and white Shih Tzu Maltese girl.
I want to thank this very nice lady who saved me from the horrors of the puppy mill and allowed me to share my life with the PATR pupsters until I find my special home. I am a very sweet, loving little girl who just needs lots and lots of cuddles and kisses. I love the other pupsters here, but spend a lot of time observing rather than interacting with them. My most favorite time is at night when I can cuddle close with Mom and Dad. I look forward to finding my special home where Mom/Dad can be home 24/7, a fenced in yard is a must and no small children please.

Mason
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on July 28, 2008. My name is Mason.
I am a handsome black and white 2 yr old, 12 lb Shih Tzu boy. I was born on July 30, 2007.
My owners dumped me and it was obvious to PATR that I had been abused as I was terrified of humans. When I first arrived I would cower if anyone approached me and scream out in terror. I was abused and so afraid of a human touch. Today I am doing much better. I ask to be picked up and cuddled although if approached too quickly I still revert to the belly up position. I love the other pupsters and can keep up with the best of them during playtime. I have learned that toys are the best and cuddling in with Mom and Dad is heaven. I cannot be placed with children and will need a nice quiet home where Mom and Dad are home with me 24/7. A pupster sister or brother would be nice, but I would also be contented being the one and only. I will need a fenced in yard.

Fiesta
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on August 22, 2008. My name is Fiesta.
I am a beautiful 12 lb, 8 yr old, blonde Pekingese girl. I was dumped at a shelter by my owners and they never even looked back.
I am a very sweet loving little girl. I am always happy and want nothing more than lots and lots of love. I get along wonderfully with all of the other pupsters here. I do not have a lot of interest in toys, but sure have a lot of interest in cuddles and smooches. I am being treated for dry eye and will need daily eye drops for the remainder of my life. I just know there is a special home waiting for me where I will be lavished with love. I enjoy being outside so a fenced in yard is a must. I prefer no children please.

The tooth fairy visited me in August 2008 when I had my dental and I have 24 teeth left. Joel
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on June 14, 2008. My name is Joel.
I am 4 yrs old and weigh 12 lbs. I am a very handsome liver and white Shih Tzu boy. I was born on March 7, 2005.
I am a retired breeder and was turned over to PATR because I suddenly lost my sight. I am a sweet, gentle, loving little boy who enjoys being held and cuddled. A visit to the ophthamologist revealed that the retinas in my eyes are detached. This does not slow me down at all. I have become comfortable with my surroundings and get around wonderfully. I snuggle in with the other pupsters, but much prefer snuggling close to Mom and Dad. I enjoy playing with toys and treat time is the best. I will only be placed in a home where Mom/Dad are home 24/7 and there are no children.

Ashley
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on August 31, 2008. My name is Ashley.
I am a 11 yr old, 11 lb blue Shih Tzu girl.
I am a retired breeder. I love life and all those around me. Mom calls me her little "Doll Baby". I love to be held and my tail is always happy. I enjoy the other pupsters company and cuddling with all of them during naptimes is so comforting. I am diabetic and have to have shots every day. Mom says I am quite the little trooper. Also, I have very little sight. The ophthamologist said I have something called diabetic cataracts. I am on daily eyedrops. I had several large mammary tumors removed when I was spayed. I am searching for a wonderful home where Mom and Dad can be home with me all day long and will shower me with lots and lots of love.
Because I am a diabetic and a senior, my diet is an extremely important factor in my overall health. The tooth fairy visited me in September 2008 when I had my dental and I have 25 teeth left. I am spayed, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on Interceptor for monthly heartworm prevention and on a natural flea protection. My last bloodwork was done on 1-6-09. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.

Caden
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on August 31, 2008. My name is Caden.
I am a 14 lb, white Pekingese boy. I am 7 yrs old. I am a retired breeder.
Mom says I am the most handsome Pekey boy she has ever seen. I am not too sure of myself at times and we are working on this. I just do not know if I can really trust or not. I do love the other pupsters and playtime is the greatest. Because of my lack of care in the breeding world my right eye was in horrible condition and I was in excruciating pain. Unfortunately the eye could not be saved, but now that I have healed from the surgery I feel so much better. Having one eye does not slow me down a bit. I will need a home with someone who has a lot of patience and can help me as I gradually know that the world around me is full of loving people. I will need a fenced in yard and no children please.

The tooth fairy visited me in September 2008 when I had my dental and I have 38 teeth left. I am neutered, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on Interceptor for monthly heartworm prevention and on a natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.
