Peke A Tzu Rescue's Available Dogs

Our Goal
Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal!

Grayson
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on August 31, 2008. My name is Grayson.
I am a 12 lb, black and white Shih Tzu boy. I am 9 yrs old.
I am a retired breeder. My life hasn't been too pleasant up until now, but even though I wasn't loved before, Mom and Dad are certainly making up for it now. I am learning what belly rubs and cuddles are all about and am loving it! There is nothing better than being hugged and held close. The toys are really fascinating and I think I may just like this invention. Because of my prior neglect my left eye is shrinking and I have very little sight in this eye. I have fairly good vision in my right eye. I will need to be on eyedrops for the remainder of my life. I can be a bit alpha so a home where I am the one and only would be great or with a pupster sister or brother that is non alpha. A fenced in yard is a must and no children please.
Because I am a senior, my diet is an extremely important factor in my overall health. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet. Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet.
I am working on house training and do well during grooming.
The tooth fairy visited me in September 2008 when I had my dental and I have 23 teeth left. I am neutered, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on Interceptor for monthly heartworm prevention and on a natural flea protection. My last bloodwork was done on 9-17-08. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.

McKenna
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on August 31, 2008. My name is McKenna.
I am a beautiful parti red/sable/white Pekingese girl. I weigh 12 lbs and I am 9 yrs old.
I am a retired breeder. Life is definitely looking up for me. I have not lived a very pleasant life, but now I am surrounded by love. Lots of toys, cushy beds, a large play area, total freedom and most of all lots of hugs and kisses. I may be 8 years old, but I feel like I am 2 again. I kick up my heels and play, play, play. I can be a bit shy at times, but once I get to know you I am a little lovebug. I would love a home where Mom/Dad could be home with me most of the time. A fenced in yard is a must and no children please.

Ginger
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on September 16, 2008. My name is Ginger.
I am 13 yr old blue and gold Yorkshire Terrier girl. I weigh 5 lbs. I was born on November 3, 1996.
I am a retired breeder. I am a loving little girl who needs lots and lots of laptime. You see I do not know how long I will be with Mom and Dad. My visit to see our vet was not what Mom and Dad wanted to hear. I have a cancerous growth which is inoperable. I am pain free at present, love to chow down and enjoy cuddling with the other pupsters. I have very little sight due to mature cataracts in both eyes, but I get around well. Mom holds me close and tells me that she will search for someone special that will love me until it is my time to say goodbye.

I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on September 16, 2008. My name is Coconut.
I am a gorgeous 11 lb, 1 yr old fawn Pekingese boy with a black mask. I was born on June 24, 2008.
I was turned over to PATR by a breeder due to kennel down sizing. I am a sweet, lovable little boy that gives the best Pekey kisses ever. I am addicted to belly rubs and love to be in Mom or Dad's lap for lots of cuddles. I love all of the other pupsters here and enjoy all of the toys. At night I love to snuggle in close with Mom and Dad. I would love a home where I would have another pupster to play with, a Mom/Dad that could be home with me most of the time and a fenced in yard to romp and play in. I will not be placed with children.

I am a 3 yr old solid gold with silver Shih Tzu girl and weigh 9 lbs. I was born on July 1, 2006.
I am a retired breeder. My goal in life is to enjoy. I enjoy the pupsters, I enjoy Mom and Dad, I enjoy running like the wind through the play area and I enjoy all of the hugs and kisses that are bestowed upon me. Oh wait, and then there are the toys and the soft beds. I do play a bit shy when I first meet someone, but once I get acquainted laptime is a must. I would like a home where I have a fenced in area to play in, a Mom/Dad that can be home with me most of the time, another pupster to play with and no children please.

I am a beautiful 10 yr old red and white Shih Tzu girl. I weigh 9 lbs and was born on December 6, 1999.
I am a retired breeder. I arrived a bit shy, but day by day my happy, friendly personality emerged. I now jump into Mom and Dad's lap for my kisses and cuddles. I love the other pupsters here and enjoy racing around the play area. I enjoy cuddling in at night with Mom and Dad and sharing my sweet kisses with them. I can't wait to meet my new family. I would love a home with a fenced in yard, a Mom/Dad that can be home with me most of the time and prefer no children please.

Peace
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on September 26, 2008. My name is Peace.
I am a 9 lb, 3 yr old gold white and silver Shih Tzu boy. I was born on November 26, 2007.
I am a retired breeder. I played shy when I first arrived, but I couldn't fool Mom and Dad for very long. I am a little lovebug who just wants to be cuddled and kissed. Of course that is when I am not chasing all of the other pupsters around. I have lots and lots of energy and love to play, play, play. I love the toys, the beds and sometimes will admit I can be a bit mischievous. I know there is a special home waiting out here for me where there is another pupster sister or brother needing a playmate. I would like Mom/Dad to be home with me most of the time and will need a fenced in yard. No small children please.

I am a 1 yr old solid gold with black Shih Tzu girl. I weigh 5 lbs and was born on July 21, 2008.
I was turned over to PATR due to a bilateral inguinal hernia. I am a playful, loving little girl who wants nothing more than to be held and cuddled. Of course that is in between chasing the other pupsters around, grabbing Mom and Dad's shoe laces, seeing what may be interesting to chew on and trying to steal everyone elses toys. I am looking forward to my Forever Home where Mom/Dad can be home with me most of the time. I would love another pupster to play with and a fenced in yard is a must. No small children please. My vet did not repair my inguinal hernia when I was spayed and will monitor the hernia a bit longer before making a decision for surgery.

I am a beautiful 1 yr old liver and white Shih Tzu girl. I weigh 5 lbs and was born on July 21, 2008.
I was turned over to PATR due to inguinal and umbilical hernias. I am your typical, energetic, happy, tail wagging puppy. I am already giving out lots of slurpy kisses and love my belly rubs. I do have a tendency to get into a few things I shouldn't, but gee, I have to have something to do! I would love a home where Mom/Dad can be home with me most of the time and another pupster sister or brother would be great. A fenced in yard is a must and no small children please. During my spay my umbilical hernia was repaired. My vet will monitor the inguinal hernia for a bit longer before making a decision for surgery.
