Peke A Tzu Rescue's Available Dogs

Our Goal
Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal!

Marley
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on April 28, 2009. My name is Marley.
I am a 15 lb, 4 yr old black Shih Tzu boy. I was born on February 5, 2005. My owner could no longer care for me due to illness.
I am a gentle loving little boy. Mom calls me her little teddy bear. I enjoy playing with all of the toys, going for walks and car rides. I get along well with the other pupsters, but am more of an observer than a player. I love to snuggle up close to Mom and Dad at bedtime and need lots of belly rubs before I fall to sleep. I can't wait to find my Forever Home where Mom and Dad can be home with me most of the time. I will need a fenced in yard and no children please.
To maintain my excellent health, my diet is extremely important. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet. Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet.
I am working on house training and do well during grooming.
I am neutered, current on vaccinations, tested heartworm negative, on Interceptor for monthly heartworm prevention and on a natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.

Savvy
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on April 28, 2009. My name is Savvy.
I am a 5 yr old gold and black Shih Tzu girl and weigh 10 lbs. I was dumped at the shelter matted to the skin.
I am a sweet little girl although a bit alpha. I have a lot of fun playing with all of the other pupsters. I love it outside and can keep up with the best of the pupsters. I enjoy being held and loved and give soft sweet Shih Tzu kisses. I would love a home with another non alpha pupster to play with, but would also be contented being the one and only. A fenced yard to run and romp in is a must and having Mom/Dad home with me most of the time would be wonderful. No children please.

I am an adorable 6 yr old, red & white, 10 lb Shih Tzu girl. I am a retired breeder. I was born on October 3, 2003.
I am a very active little girl. Mom keeps referring to something called the energized bunny. I am a very independent little girl and choose my own times when I want to be hugged and cuddled. I enjoy playing with the toys, snoozing in the beds and romping and playing outside. I love the other pupsters here and playtime is my passion. I have lots and lots of love to give my new Mom and Dad. Please give me a home where I will be loved forever with a fenced in yard to romp in, another pupster sister or brother to play with and a Mom/Dad that can be home with me 24/7. No children please.

I weigh 12 lbs and am a 3 yr old handsome, energetic gray and white Shih Tzu boy. I was born on November 4, 2006. I am a retired breeder.
I am a bit unsure of myself at times, but once I get to know you get ready for a soft, fuzzy, loving little boy snuggled close in your lap. I have so much fun with the pupsters here and really enjoy being cuddled and held. I would love a home with another pupster to play with and a fenced in yard is a must. No children please. Can't wait to meet my Mom and Dad!

I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on May 18, 2009. My name is Bing.
I am a handsome 6 lb, 4 yr old white/cream Maltese Yorkie boy. I was dumped at a shelter by my owners.
I am a very loving little boy with a strong personality. I try to get a bit bossy with Mom and Dad, but they are teaching me that this is inappropriate behavior. I love my laptime and snuggling close with Mom and Dad at night. I do fine with the other pupsters, but am an alpha boy. I would love a home where I will be pampered beyond measure and a fenced in yard is a must. I would be contented being the one and only. No children please.

I am a very cute 1 yr old, 6 lb gold and black Yorkie Chihuahua boy. I was dumped at the shelter by my owner.
I wish I could talk to Mom and Dad and tell them about the first months of my life for I am very shy and frightened. I am afraid of loud noises and quick movements. Mom and Dad say that eventually I will trust. They just treat me with gentleness and kindness, but say it may take awhile before I can fully trust. I get along well with the other pupsters and enjoy interacting with them. I can't wait to find my very own special home where Mom/Dad can be home with me most of the time. I prefer no small children and a fenced in yard is a must.

Tianna
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on May 30, 2009. My name is Tianna.
I am a sweet 10 lb silver and gold Silky Terrier girl. I am 1 yr old. I was abandoned by my owner at a shelter.
I love Mom and Dad and enjoy lots of cuddles and kisses. The best part of my day is when I get to romp and play with all of the pupsters. I have to be supervised during playtime because at a very young age my right femur was fractured from the knee to the pelvis and there is an overlap in healing angulation. I often walk with a limp and care needs to be taken so that I do not stretch my cruciate ligament. I do well with all of my pupster friends, but there are times when I can be a bit bossy. I would love a home where Mom and Dad can be home with me 24/7. A fenced in yard is a must and no children please.

Austin
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on May 30, 2009. My name is Austin.
I am a black and white 10 lb Shih Tzu boy. I am 4 yrs old. I was picked up as a stray, matted to the skin, urine soaked with dew claws curling through my feet twice. The dew claws were badly infected.
I am a loving little boy once I get to know you. I am unsure of myself, but once I know you will be loving and gentle with me I melt into your arms. I am food aggressive and Mom is working on this with me. I do well with the other pupsters and enjoy snuggling close to them during naptimes. I am searching for a home where Mom/Dad will be patient and gentle with me as I work through my insecurities. I will need a fenced in yard, and a quiet home with no children.

Mopsie
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on July 7, 2009. My name is Mopsie.
I am a beautiful, 8 yr old, 14 lb gray & white Shih Tzu girl. My owner passed away and family members were unable to care for me due to work schedules.
I am a happy, loving little girl and am on the go constantly. Whenever Mom or Dad talk to me my butt and tail go a mile a minute. There is just so much to see and do here and I want to make sure I don't miss out on a thing. The pupsters are great and I have made so many new friends. I can't wait to find my Forever Home where I will be lavished with hugs and kisses. I would like Mom/Dad to be home with me as much as possible and would love a fenced in yard.
Because I am a senior, my diet is extremely important. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. Dahlia
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on July 12, 2009. My name is Dahlia.
I weigh 10 lbs and am a beautiful 5 yr old Shih Tzu Yorkie mix girl. I was born on July 1, 2004. My owner turned me over to rescue because she was unable to care for my special needs.
I am a sweet, loving little girl. I love toys and toss them in the air and chase after them. I get along well with the other dogs, but at times can be a bit bossy. I love food and I look forward to treat time. I enjoy car rides and short walks in my cart. My back legs are paralyzed. I could walk at one time. According to my prior owner I was fine when I went to bed one evening, but then woke up unable to walk. Mom and Dad obtained a cart for me and I can now run right along side the rest of the pupsters. I am receiving holistic care which includes acupuncture, chiropractic care and holistic supplements to help me regain muscle tone and to assure that I remain pain free. I have no control over my bladder and bowels. I will need a stay at home Mom/Dad who are willing to work with my health issues. A quiet home with no children would be wonderful. Ongoing holistic care is a must.
