Peke A Tzu Rescue's Available Dogs

Our Goal
Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal!

Pupster Sponsorships
We all know that there are different areas that we can help within rescues. Some individuals open their homes to the dogs for fostering, others aid in transports, vet visits and grooming appointments. We realize that many of our lives become very busy and there is just not enough time in the day.
A wonderful way for those of you that maintain a lifestyle that prohibits you from physically helping these sweet kids is through sponsorship.
Your name and location will be noted under the pupster you have chosen to sponsor. You will be kept updated on a monthly basis as to how your “Favorite Baby” is progressing.

Sponsorship Auto Monthly
If you would like to sponsor one of our precious fosters, and would like to have your monthly sponsorship automatically paid via Paypal, please click on the Paypal button below. Many of our Sponsor Parents prefer this option.
If you prefer to pay on a month to month basis please click on the "Sponsor Me" button within each pupster's bio.

Sponsoring one of our pupsters is very fulfilling for you will be able to follow their progress as they heal emotionally and physically, grow to trust and find their Special Home that they so deserve.

Pappy
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on September 25, 2006. My name is Pappy.
I am a 3 yr old sweet black Poodle boy. I weigh 10 lbs and was born on July 18, 2006.
I was turned over to PATR by a breeder due to kennel down sizing. My Daddy was a chocolate Poodle and my Mommy was an apricot Poodle. I am packed full of energy and am very, very curious. I seem to hear the word no a lot. I just can't help myself. So many things to explore! I do like my lovin' and enjoy all of the toys. I can't wait to find my very own special home.
To maintain my excellent health, my diet is extremely important. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet. Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet.
I am working on my potty training and do fairly well during grooming.
The tooth fairy visited me in February 2009 when I had my dental and I have 39 teeth left. I am neutered, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on Interceptor for monthly heartworm prevention and on a natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.

Rory
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on September 25, 2006. My name is Rory.
I am a 3 yr old very cute, 10 lb apricot poodle boy. I was born on July 18, 2006.
I was turned over to PATR by a breeder due to kennel down sizing. My Daddy was chocolate and my Mommy was apricot. I am a very loving little boy and already know how wonderful those belly rubs feel. I love to race around the house as fast as I can. I am really good at grabbing toys from all the other pupsters and the chase begins. I would love a home with at least one other pupster to romp and play with and really need a fenced in yard. Mom and Dad told me there is a wonderful home just waiting out here for me.

Promise
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on September 30, 2006. My name is Promise.
I am a very playful, energetic 7 yr old Pekingese girl. I was born on September 10, 2002 and weigh 8 lbs. I am a beautiful sable girl with a black mask.
I am enjoying my retirement from the breeding world and all the pupsters definitely know that I have arrived! I am one busy little girl, full of energy and lots of love. I am a bit nervous when I do not know you, but once I am comfortable I will win your heart over. I can be a bit sassy at times, but Mom says she loves my Pekey attitude. I get along well with the other pupsters, but can be a bit "alpha" so need a home all to myself or with a pupster that will accept me as being the boss. I do have bilatteral luxating patellas and am on medication. It would be great if my special Mom/Dad could be home with me 24/7 and a fenced in yard is a must.
Because of my health concerns, my diet is extremely important.  Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. Haley
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on December 6, 2006. My name is Haley.
I am a beautiful 8 yr old gold and white Shih Tzu girl. I was born on November 16, 2001 and weigh 11 lbs.
I am a retired breeder and am enjoying life here with all of the other pupsters.
When I first arrived I was a bit shy, but now I am very outgoing and love to be held and cuddled by everyone. I am packed full of energy and am on the go most of the day. I enjoy all of the soft beds and the toys are great. I have tried to establish myself as the "boss", but Mom won over me. I would prefer to be an only dog because I am an alpha girl. I can also be very verbal so will need a home where barking will not be an issue. I would enjoy having Mom/Dad home with me 24/7 and a fenced in yard is a must.

Mitch
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on January 13, 2007. My name is Mitch.
I am 8 yrs old and was born on September 1, 2001. I am a sweet 10 lb Yorkshire Terrier boy and came from the breeding world.
Mom calls me her little clown for I so enjoy life and everything around me and display my love for life with enthusiasm. I guess I will have to admit that I do get a little mischievous sometimes. I enjoy all of the other pupsters and love to snuggle with all of them. Now, I can be a bit bossy sometimes, but isn't that how terriers are supposed to be? I love Mom and Dad and like nothing more than being in their laps to be kissed and cuddled. I do have this thing called hypotrichosis (presence of less hair than normal), but Mom just says it adds to my personality. I also can be quite the escape artist so will definitely need a secure fenced in area to play in. I know there is someone out here just waiting to hold me close and love me.

Vance
was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on January 13, 2007. My name is Vance.
I am a 3 yr old very sweet Cocker Spaniel Poodle mix (Cockapoo) boy. I weigh 14 lbs and was born on October 25, 2006. I was turned over to PATR because I had a cherry eye.
I had surgery on my cherry eye and I am in excellent health. I am a loving, happy little puppy with lots and lots of energy. I love all of the other pupsters here and can be a bit devilish at times. I don't understand why some of the older pupsters object to having their tails pulled. I love to be held and cuddled and give the best kisses ever. I have already discovered that the best place to be at night is cuddled up next to Mom and Dad in bed. I would love a home with another pupster to play with and a fenced in yard would be great. I am afraid of the camera so in my pictures my tail is not up, but trust me it wags alot as long is the camera is not clicking.

Adelle
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on January 23, 2007. My name is Adelle.
I am a beautiful 11 yr old black and white Shih Tzu girl. I weigh 9.5 lbs. I was found wandering the streets and am so happy to be here safe and loved.
I am such a sweet little girl who only asks for warm arms to surround me and soft beds to lie on. I get along with the other pupsters, but do prefer my own space most of the time. When I arrived my eyes were matted shut. I have severe dry eye and Mom puts medication in my eyes 3 times daily. This medication will be needed for the rest of my life. I also had bladder stones, my surgery was completed and I feel so much better! I am searching for a wonderful home where Mom/Dad will pamper me for the rest of my life. I have so much love to share!
Because I am a senior, my diet is an extremely important factor in my overall health. I am house trained, leash trained and enjoy car rides.

Huey
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on January 23, 2007. My name is Huey.
I am a very handsome black and white, 14 yr old, 11 lb Shih Tzu boy. I was born on January 31, 1995.
My owners had me since I was a puppy, but grandchildren entered their world and I became a bit nippy with them. I am a sweet, cuddly little boy most of the time. I enjoy playing with toys and romping in our play area. I tolerate the other pupsters here, but can be quite alpha. I also can be a bit nippy when things do not go my way. Walks are the greatest and I just need a nice warm lap to relax in. I would love a home where I could be the one and only and am looking forward to finding my special home where I can cover my Mom/Dad in wonderful Tzu kisses.

Jenkins
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on January 23, 2007. My name is Jenkins.
I am a 14 lb, 4 yr old liver and white Shih Tzu boy.
I was picked up on the street and taken to a shelter. My owner never came to get me. When I first arrived I was very, very shy and would nip if anyone came near me. I am doing much better now and learning to trust. I know that no one is going to hurt me anymore. I am enjoying all of the loving I am getting and return it with enthusiasm. I am a bit of a loner and sit back and observe the other pupsters during playtime. Mom says eventually I will be joining in the fun. My left eye had to be removed due to severe infection, but my other eye is healthy and I have no problem getting around. I would love a home where Mom/Dad could be home with me 24/7.

I do wonderfully on leash and am house trained.

I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on January 26, 2007. My name is Kia.
I am a very cute 4 yr old brindle and white Shih Tzu girl. I weigh 11 lbs and was born on July 5, 2005.
My owner sent me to join the PATR pupsters because she was not home with me enough. I am a sweet little girl once I get to know you. I am very nervous around strangers and will nip if someone reaches for me too quickly. I love the other pupsters here and can keep up with the best of them during playtime. Toys are the greatest, naps are enjoyed thoroughly on a nice soft bed and running and playing outside is way too much fun. I enjoy being in Mom and Dad's arms, but there are times where I prefer to be by myself and just contemplate what is going on around me. I am very fearful when I see the vet so care has to be taken. I would love a home with a fenced in yard where Mom/Dad could be home with me 24/7. I prefer no children please.
