Peke A Tzu Rescue's Available Dogs

Our Goal
Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal!

Calla
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on April 6, 2007. My name is Calla.
I am an adorable 3 year old, black and white, 8 pound Shih Tzu girl. My owners financial situation changed and they could no longer care for me.
I am a loving little girl who will crawl into your lap for my cuddles and kisses. I enjoy playing with the toys, snoozing in the beds and romping and playing outside. I love the other pupsters here, but at times can be a little bossy. I have lots and lots of love to give my new Mom and Dad. Please give me a home where I will be loved forever with a fenced in yard to romp in and a Mom/Dad that can be home with me 24/7. I cannot be around children.
To maintain my excellent health, my diet is extremely important. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet. Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet.
I am working on house training and do well during grooming.
I am spayed, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on Interceptor for monthly heartworm prevention and on a natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.

Astro
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on April 28, 2007. My name is Astro.
I am an adorable, 3 yr old sweet 9 lb Maltese boy and was born September 24, 2006.
I was turned over to PATR by a breeder due to kennel downsizing. I love to romp and play with the pupsters here and love everyone I meet. I surely enjoy my lap time and cuddles. My favorite place at night is snuggled up to Mom and Dad. I can be a bit mischievous at times, but always try to listen to Mom and Dad when they explain that I am doing something inappropriate. I would love a home where I would have a pupster to play with and a fenced in yard is a must.

Teddee
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on April 28, 2007. My name is Teddee.
I am a handsome, 11 yr old, 10 lb chocolate poodle boy. I was born on February 7, 1998 and am a retired breeder.
I love all the cushy beds and yummy food here. I haven't quite figured out exactly what to do with all of the toys, but have just been sitting back watching everyone. I get along fine with all the pupsters and do well with Mom and Dad as long as I am not approached too quickly. I am a bit on the shy side, but once in your arms I snuggle right in. I would love a home where I would be lavished with love and affection. It would be nice to have Mom/Dad home with me 24/7. I prefer no children and need a fenced in yard.
Because I am a senior, my diet is an extremely important factor in my overall health. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Bobo
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on June 30, 2007. My name is Bobo.
I am a handsome 7 year old, red pekingese boy with a black mask. We are talking about 12 lbs. of soft fluffiness here. I have a gorgeous black mask and an adorable "puppy-face". I am very sweet and playful. I came into rescue when my previous family was moving out of the country and could not take me with them. I am a big cuddle-bug and love sleeping in the bed with my foster mom. Mom says I am the most affectionate Peke boy in the world.

I am housetrained but will sometimes mark in the house. I am leash trained and do really well during grooming.

I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on July 1, 2007.
My name is Petey and I am a gorgeous 7 yr old, 15 lb black and white Japanese Chin boy. I was born on March 9, 2002.
My elderly parents passed on to Rainbow Bridge and their adult daughter did not want me and turned me over to PATR.
I am a sweet Japanese Chin boy who is always smiling. I love playing with toys and the other dogs in my foster home. I do like to chase the cats in my foster home but am learning that is not polite. I am in excellent health. I love sleeping on the bed with my foster mom and dad at night. I enjoy exploring my fenced yard and will need the same in my forever home.

Babsey
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on July 3, 2007. My name is Babsey.
I am a beautiful 6 lb, 4 yr old, blue and gold Yorkshire Terrier girl. I was born on January 18, 2005. I am a retired breeder.
I love everyone I meet and will jump right into your arms. Mom says I remind her of the energizer bunny, whatever that means. The more cuddle time I have, the happier I am. I really think all of the pupsters here are really neat and join them in playtime without a blink of an eye. Toys, what are they??? Mom and Dad are my toys! I am having occasional cluster seizures, but my holistic veterinarian is working on clearing the cause of my seizures. I am currently on medications and Mom and Dad are monitoring me closely. I will need a stay at home Mom/Dad so that I can continue my housetraining at my forever home. I definitely need a fenced in yard to explore. I am too tiny to be in a home with children. I will need to find my forever home in the Jacksonville area so that I can continue my treatment for the seizures.
Because of my seizures, my diet is extremely important. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy chicken & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet at nutrition. I take chinese herbs for my seizures. To supplement my healthy raw diet, Mom adds digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp and omega fatty acids for a complete balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet & supplements.
I am working on potty training and do well during grooming.

I weigh 12 lbs, am a gorgeous red, gold and white Shih Tzu girl and am 4 yrs old. I was born on April 16, 2004. I am a retired breeder.
I am a sweet loving little girl once I get to know you. I enjoy interacting with all of the other pupsters and love the toys and plush beds that surround me. I particularly love retiring in the evening and snuggling close to Mom and Dad..there is nothing better. I prefer not to be left alone during the day, would love another pupster to play with and a fenced in yard.

I am a beautiful, 10 yr old, 14 lb blonde and white Shih Tzu girl. I was born on May 9, 1999.
I am a retired breeder. I am a happy, loving little girl and am on the go constantly. Whenever Mom or Dad talk to me my butt and tail go a mile a minute. There is just so much to see and do here and I want to make sure I don't miss out on a thing. The pupsters are great and I have made so many new friends. I can't wait to find my Forever Home where I will be lavished with hugs and kisses. I would like Mom/Dad to be home with me as much as possible and would love a fenced in yard.

I am a sweet, 10 yr old, 10 lb silver Poodle girl. I was born on January 27, 1999.
I am a retired breeder. Upon arrival I was rather shy, but with tons of love from my Foster Mom I emerged from my shell and am lovin' life. I really enjoy my laptime and snuggles. My favorite time of the day is romping and playing with the other pupsters. Sometimes I have to coax them a bit, but before you know it they are following my lead. When I had my dental I had to have 21 teeth pulled and only have 5 teeth left now, but that does not slow me down when I eat. Love that food! It would be nice to have Mom/Dad home with me 24/7 and another pupster to snuggle. I also would like a fenced in yard and no small children please.

I am a handsome 13 lb, 6 yr old Apricot poodle boy. I was born on June 13, 2003. I am a retired breeder.
I am rather shy, but am beginning to get more comfortable as the days go by. I have such a sweet, gentle personality and Mom says she just adores me...whatever that means unless it has something to do with getting kisses right on the end of my nose. I get along well with all of the other pupsters, enjoy relaxing in the sun and loving the freedom to do whatever I want to do. I would love a home where I will be pampered beyond measure and a fenced in yard is a must.
