Peke A Tzu Rescue's Available Dogs

Our Goal
Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal!

Peeka
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on July 28, 2007. My name is Peeka.
I am a beautiful, 13 lb, 10 yr old red and white Shih Tzu girl. I was born on November 5, 1999.
My owner moved into an apartment and couldn't take me with her so I went to live with my aunt. They were good to me, but couldn't keep me any longer and were considering euthanization. I am a very loving little girl once I am comfortable with you. I get along well with all of the other pusters and am enjoying the plush beds and plentiful toys. I do not like anyone I do not know and will growl, bark and threaten to bite. Mom, Dad and I are working on this trying to figure out why I feel so threatened by strangers. I would love a home where Mom/Dad could be home with me 24/7 so that I can have lots of lovin' and laptime.
Because I am a senior, my diet is an extremely important factor in my overall health. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet. Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet.
I am house trained, leash trained and do fairly well during grooming.
I am spayed, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on Interceptor for monthly heartworm prevention and on a natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.

Arpel
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on August 12, 2007. My name is Arpel.
I am a beautiful 10 yr old, black and white, 13 lb Shih Tzu girl.
My prior owners had young children and I was not comfortable with them so here I am with all of the other PATR pupsters. I am a very loving little girl. I like to be wherever Mom is at. I enjoy sleeping right next to her on her pillow, I cuddle up close to her whenever she is working on the computer. I love all of the soft toys and enjoy tossing them in the air and catching them. I am a little uneasy around the other pupsters for I had not been pupster socialized before I arrived. Mom says I suffer from this thing called "Separation Anxiety" and we are working on that. I have a terrible fear if Mom or Dad are not where I can see them and touch them. I will need a home where Mom and Dad are home with me all of the time. I also would love a fenced in area to romp and play in. I prefer no children please.

I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on September 14, 2007. My name is Chantelle.
I am a beautiful 11 lb, 9 yr old black and white Pekingese girl. I was born on August 31, 2000.
I was turned over to a humane society because I did not get along well with children. I am enjoying being here with all of the pupsters and cuddling up next to them. I am a loving little girl who greets everyone with tail wagging ready to dole out my special kisses. I look forward to bedtime when I can snuggle close to Mom and Dad. I am looking forward to a home where Mom/Dad will be home with me 24/7. I love to romp and play in the yard so a fenced in yard is a must. I cannot be placed with children.

Lily
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on September 19, 2007. My name is Lily.
I am 5 yrs old, weigh 12 lbs and am a beautiful white and cream Shih Tzu girl. I was born on January 26, 2004.
My prior owners had me for a short time and realized that I had issues that they felt they could not work through so I came to PATR to go through the Pupster Rehabilitation Program. I have so much love to give and at times am very, very loving. But, I really am not sure of myself and have a lot of fears. Mom and Dad are working with me on this. I can be dog and people aggressive. I also suffer from separation anxiety...I need to have Mom or Dad in my sight at all times. I know there is a wonderful home out here for me where Mom/Dad will continue working with me on my problems. I would love a fenced in yard and cannot be placed with children.
To maintain my excellent health, my diet is extremely important. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. Nougat
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on October 7, 2007. My name is Nougat.
I am 6 yrs old, weigh 12 lbs and am a very handsome liver Shih Tzu boy. I was born on May 27, 2003. I am a retired breeder.
I am a very shy little boy and it takes me awhile to warm up to strangers. I love Mom and Dad and enjoy being in their laps for lots of belly rubs and cuddles. Playing with all of the pupsters is so much fun! I enjoy my time outside and the toys are great! I really would like a home with another pupster to play with, a nice fenced in yard to play in and hope that Mom/Dad can be home with me 24/7. I prefer no children please.

Guy
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on October 25, 2007. My name is Guy.
I am 11 yrs old, weigh 18 lbs and am a very handsome black and white Shih Tzu boy.
My owners had me since I was a puppy, children entered their lives and they did not have enough time to spend with me anymore. I am a sweet, gentle soul who only wants someone to cuddle me close and give me lots of love. I enjoy having all of the other pupsters to cuddle with and so enjoy playing with the toys. My favorite time is in the evening when all settles down and I crawl into bed with Mom to cuddle as close as I can get. I am really spry for my age, but I do have a heart murmer. Doc says this happens sometimes when we get a bit older.

Benson
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on October 30, 2007. My name is Benson.
I am a handsome 3 yr old white Pekingese boy and was born on February 20, 2006. I weigh 16 lbs. I am a retired breeder.
I surely enjoy every minute of the day. I love to romp and play with the other pupsters, am obsessed with balls and follow Mom around begging for attention. I just look up at her, give her my famous Benson grin and she turns to mush. Now, I can be a bit over rambunctious at times, but hey, I am just a young pupster feeling my oats you know. I can't wait to find my very own special home where Mom/Dad can be home with me most of the time. I prefer no small children and a fenced in yard is a must.

I am a 12 lb, 7 yr old white and apricot Chinese Crested Powder Puff boy. I was born on November 22, 2002 and have retired from the breeding world.
I am a rather shy little boy, but once I am comfortable with you I will jump right into your lap for cuddles and kisses. I enjoy playing with the rest of the pupsters here and am enjoying all of the toys and nice soft beds. I have already figured out the best place to sleep at night is with Mom and Dad. I can't wait to find my Forever Home where Mom and Dad can be home with me most of the time. I will need a fenced in yard and no children please.
