Peke A Tzu Rescue's Available Dogs

Our Goal
Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal!

Pupster Sponsorships
We all know that there are different areas that we can help within rescues. Some individuals open their homes to the dogs for fostering, others aid in transports, vet visits and grooming appointments. We realize that many of our lives become very busy and there is just not enough time in the day.
A wonderful way for those of you that maintain a lifestyle that prohibits you from physically helping these sweet kids is through sponsorship.
Your name and location will be noted under the pupster you have chosen to sponsor. You will be kept updated on a monthly basis as to how your “Favorite Baby” is progressing.

Sponsorship Auto Monthly
If you would like to sponsor one of our precious fosters, and would like to have your monthly sponsorship automatically paid via Paypal, please click on the Paypal button below. Many of our Sponsor Parents prefer this option.
If you prefer to pay on a month to month basis please click on the "Sponsor Me" button within each pupster's bio.

Sponsoring one of our pupsters is very fulfilling for you will be able to follow their progress as they heal emotionally and physically, grow to trust and find their Special Home that they so deserve.

Harlan
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on December 5, 2007. My name is Harlan.
I am an 11 lb, 9 yr old black, white and tan Chinese Crested Hairless boy. I was born on September 22, 2000 and have retired from the breeding world.
I am quite the character, always happy, tail wagging and prance and dance for Mom and Dad all of the time. I love to cuddle up with the rest of the pupsters here and toys are the best. Now, I can be kind of bossy sometimes, but Mom says that is inappropriate behavior so I do my best to behave. I know my special home is out there and I cannot wait to meet my Mom and Dad. I would love a fenced in yard to play in and it would be nice if Mom/Dad could be home with me most of the time.
Because I am a senior, my diet is an extremely important factor in my overall health. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet. Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet.
I am working on house training and do well during grooming.
The tooth fairy visited me in January 2009 when I had my dental and I have 10 teeth left. I am neutered, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on Interceptor for monthly heartworm prevention and on a natural flea protection. My last bloodwork was done on 1-8-09. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.

I am an adorable 12 lb, 10 yr old, black and white Havanese girl. I was born on November 14, 1999.
I am a retired breeder. I am a very quiet little girl who is contented snuggling with the other pupsters or being in Mom or Dad's lap. I leave all the romping and playing for the younger kids, but sure enjoy watching all of the activity around me. I would love a home where Mom/Dad could be home with me 24/7. Another pupster sister or brother would be great.

Zena
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on December 5, 2007. My name is Zena.
I am 13 yrs old, weigh 8 lbs and am a very loving Maltese girl. I was born on December 12, 1996.
I am a retired breeder. I am a bit shy when I meet anyone, but once I feel comfortable I will cuddle right in for belly rubs and snuggles. I enjoy all of the other pupsters and love to join in during playtime. And trust me, I can definitely keep the youngsters under control. I had several mammary tumors that were removed and biopsy results indicated that the tumors are malignant. I will need to be monitored on a weekly basis to check for any additional growths. I am looking forward to my Forever Home where I will be pampered to no end. It would be wonderful if Mom/Dad could be home with me most of the time and I would love a fenced in yard to play in.

I am a very handsome 2 yr old, 12 lb, black and white Japanese Chin boy. I was born on March 18, 2007.
I am packed full of energy and kisses. I have so much fun romping and playing with the other pupsters here and toys are my passion. I am curious about all that surrounds me and at times that gets me into a bit of trouble if you know what I mean. I also can be a bit alpha. I love to snuggle up close in bed with Mom and Dad at night. I would love a home where Mom/Dad could be home with me most of the time. I am a retired breeder. I am very, very shy, but Mom and Dad keep saying that this will pass and I trust them for they love me so much. Now I may be shy with humans, but I love all of the pupsters here so much. I enjoy playing with them and snuggling close when I get tired. I would love a home where Mom/Dad will lavish me with love. I am a beautiful 4 yr old, 10 lb chocolate Poodle girl. I was born on April 18, 2004.
I am a retired breeder. I am really enjoying myself here. Lots of room to romp and play, loving pupster sisters and brothers, yummy food, fun toys and nice soft cushy beds. I love all of the pupsters, but am quite shy with people. Mom says I will learn to get past this. She says love heals all. I just know there is a special home waiting for me where I will have a fenced in area to play in, another pupster to share my life with and a Mom/Dad that can be home with me most of the time.

I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on January 6, 2008. My name is Mei-Ling.
I am a very pretty 5 yr old black and white Shih Tzu girl and weigh 12 lbs.
My prior owners were very abusive. They thought nothing of kicking and hitting me with their fists. Thank goodness this wonderful lady from the humane society stepped in, saved me and asked PATR to welcome me into their loving environment. I had a very large kidney stone removed and am on a raw diet and supplements which will need to be continued when I am adopted with frequent checkups from the vet. I am a very needy little girl who wants as much laptime as possible. The other pupsters are OK, but I just sit back and watch them play. I would prefer to be the one and only. I love my Mom, but am more drawn to my Dad. I enjoy walks, car rides and going whereever Mom and Dad go. After all I have been through, it would be wonderful to find a nice quiet home with no small children, no other pets and a Mom/Dad that could be home with me 24/7.

I am a very sweet 7 yr old, 11 lb, liver, gold and white Shih Tzu girl. I was born on April 24, 2001.
I am a retired breeder. Wow, this is the place for me! There is never a dull moment here and I have my choice of pupsters to play with. I like the boys the best, but don't tell Mom I told you that. I am a very inquisitive little girl and like to keep up to date on everything that is going on around me. By the way, I have the cutest way of sitting up to get your attention. Mom says when I do that I am irresistable...have her wrapped right around my little paws already. Oh, I forgot to tell you that I have only one eye, but that certainly does not slow me down a bit. I would love a home with another pupster to play with, a fenced in yard would be great and a Mom/Dad who will be home with me most of the time.

I am a handsome 2 yr old, 12 lb, black Shih Tzu boy. I was born on April 29, 2006.
I am a retired breeder. I am a sweet, gentle little boy and am a bit shy. I do love my laptime and cuddles and give very soft feathery kisses. The other pupsters have been great with me and I am learning to enjoy playtime with all of them. I am still nervous when meeting people I do not know, but Mom and Dad said we'll just take one step at a time. I am looking forward to finding my special home where I will be loved forever. I would like a fenced in yard and no children please.

I am a handsome 14 lb, 8 yr old Affenpinscher boy. I was born on August 11, 2001.
I am a retired breeder. I am a happy little boy who gets along well with all of the other pupsters. Playtime is the greatest and snuggling in for naptimes with all of the other pupsters feels so good. I love attention, give the best kisses ever and Mom keeps telling me what beautiful eyes I have...blush. I can't wait to find my Forever Home where I will have a fenced in area to romp and play in and a Mom/Dad that can be home with me most of the time.
